According to statistics from the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, more than 2.35 million visitors from Southeast Asia traveled to Taiwan in 2024, including over 520,000 from Singapore. To boost Miaoli’s visibility in the international tourism market, Miaoli County participated in the 2025 NATAS Holidays. From August 15 to 17, a special pavilion at the Singapore Expo showcased Miaoli’s mountain town attractions. On August 18, representatives from Miaoli County also joined the business-to-business tourism exchange event to further expand its reach in the Singapore visitor market.
This year’s exhibition featured a diverse and dynamic lineup, highlighting Miaoli’s unique blend of tourism and agriculture. From immersive rail bike rides and rejuvenating hot spring retreats in the mountains, to enchanting garden farms and hidden forest escapes, visitors were introduced to a wide range of mountain experiences that cater to their desire for immersive journeys, secret getaways, and healing accommodations.
At the business-to-business tourism promotion event on August 18, representatives from Miaoli County engaged with Singapore travel operators on topics such as customized tour packages, family-friendly farm experiences, hot spring wellness holidays, and cultural slow travel. Singapore operators showed strong interest in Miaoli’s distinctive tourism resources and indicated plans to arrange familiarization trips for media and industry representatives, paving the way for deeper collaboration.
