To expand the South Korean visitor market and promote the internationalization of tourism in central Taiwan, the Culture and Tourism Bureau[u1.1] (under the Miaoli County Government) joined Taichung City, Changhua County, and Nantou County in participating in the “2026 Korea Tourism Promotion Event” held in Seoul’s Hongdae commercial district from July 8 to 13. The six-day B2C tourism promotion campaign was designed to showcase central Taiwan’s tourism attractions to Korean consumers.
The delegation was joined by six local tourism operators, including the Miaoli County Tourism Association, Miaoli Mingde Lakeside Park, Flower Home, Chun Tian Arts, Old Mountain Line Rail Bike, and 3 Hills Café. On July 9, the delegation visited the Korea Tourism Organization and other relevant organizations to discuss potential cooperation opportunities. On July 10, it held a Tourism Promotion B2B Exchange Meeting to facilitate in-depth exchanges among the industry, government, and academic sectors.
The Culture and Tourism Bureau stated that South Korea is a key source market for international visitors. Going forward, Miaoli will continue to strengthen its tourism brand through regional alliances and international business matchmaking, driving the development of local industries.
