The Tai’an Hot Springs area in Miaoli has been awarded the highest honor—the “Top Ten Springs, Top Ten Beauty Award”—at the 2025 Taiwan Golden Fountain Awards. The Tourism Administration under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has planned an “overnight mini trip” itinerary for Tai’an Township, featuring activities such as forest hiking, hot spring bathing, and local cuisine dining. Tai’an Township offers distinctive Hakka and Indigenous dishes, and with its quiet environment, high-quality services, and excellent spring water, it has become an ideal destination for springtime hot spring getaways.
The Tai’an Hot Springs are carbonated, weakly alkaline hot springs. The water is colorless and odorless, with a temperature of approximately 47°C. It appears milky and slightly translucent, with a smooth and delicate texture, earning it the nickname “Beauty Bath.” It is suitable for prolonged soaking and is especially beneficial for wellness during seasonal transitions.
Must-visit attractions in Tai’an Township, Miaoli County include the stunning bamboo tunnel at the Wugayan Bamboo Forest, the refreshing forest settings of the Guanwu National Forest Recreation Area and Xuejian Recreation Area, and popular check-in spots including the Shuiyun Suspension Bridge and Qing’an Tofu Street. The surrounding area preserves vast stretches of old-growth forests, offering an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Along the way, visitors can also enjoy Hakka and Indigenous-style cuisine, experiencing the rich and diverse culinary cultures of the region.
