Miaoli has successfully promoted the concept of "slow life" from Nanzhuang and Sanyi International Slow City, extending to the sea and taken the lead in promoting the slow fish movement nationwide. In 2020, the county promoted the slow fish culture of Miaoli, Taiwan, under the name "Slow Fish Miaoli Taiwan," recognized by Slow Food International.
